Description

Name: Harpy
Area of Origin: Rome, Greece

The Harpies are Greek and Roman mythological creatures with the bodies of birds and the heads and torsos of women. They'd often steal food from their victims and would carry evil-doers to the Erinyes (also known as the Furies). While generally now depicted as malevolent, they were described as beautiful creatures in ancient times and not necessarily good or evil; the ugly-faced, ferocious harpies that are prevalent today are a much later development.

Yeah I figured if they were bringing evil-doers somewhere to be punished they couldn't have been considered all bad. A bad guy would move evil-doers around somewhere they'd want to live but aren't known, to keep the heat from their crimes off them, kinda like, you know...

Anyway in my D&D setting I just allow harpies the full range of human attractiveness - at least on their human parts. Covers all my bases. I guess their bird parts can have the full range of bird attractiveness, who am I to judge?
