Boss 6: Gohma
"The super-huge crab that lives in the labyrinths. Its hard shell will repulse any attack. Attack its weak point with a special weapon."
-The Legend of Zelda manual
Just south of of the western Death Mountain pass is its alleged namesake, a sprawling necropolis, littered with thousands of indiscernible headstones, graves and catacombs, weathered by time and neglect. Atop a lonely plateau is the land’s largest mausoleum, dedicated to the lives of countless individuals of high wealth and standing. Images and icons of kings and beasts are found carved all over its walls, covered in webs and layers upon layers of dust and rot. Because of the mausoleum's wealth of dead bodies, Like-Likes are particularly common in this section of the underworld, as are Bubbles and the re-animated slime-molds. Lying dormant in the crypt's lowest levels for thousands of years before Ganon’s arrival was the oldest of the 6 gods, a crustacean behemoth known as Gohma; A corpse-encrusted, hard-shelled cyclopic monstrosity that dwarfs the other demons with its immeasurable size and strength. Gohma is believed to be the maternal source of the Tektites that roam Hyrule's overworld, able to birth as many as hundreds of the creatures in any given season. With Gohma possessing a rock-hard carapace, armored underbelly and humongous claws, her only weak spot and exposed organ is the lone yellowed eye that sits above her large mandibles.
Nifty!
I've been contemplating a giant one-eyed blue crab for a future project for the past couple of days.
